We stopped to put chains on the tire. This simple operation ended up taking about twenty minutes, because they had the wrong chains and they came off three times. I love competence.

Bad weather stopped our ascent the first day so we set up camp instead. It started to snow a bit.

The tents started getting covered in snow. Our tent started out inside-out, which explained why we were a few minutes behind the rest of the group in setting up our tent.

That's one of our guides on the left. He skied down from Camp Muir to Paradise in seven minutes. It took us ten hours to walk up the same distance.
